Curriculum Council

In the Orcutt Union School District, the District's Curriculum Council is a vehicle through which the district's vision, goals, and strategic plan are discussed and pursued. Curriculum Council members represent their schools and the district in collaborative curriculum planning and development efforts. Collaborative decisions made by this important group bring guidance and direction to local and state reform efforts.

Curriculum Council Meetings are held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in our Instructional Media Center (IMC). Each elementary school school sends representatives to each meeting. Junior high schools are represented by teachers from different departments. The president of the certificated bargaining unit is also a member of the council. In addition, there is an elementary principal and junior high principal representing administration on the council. The agendas are established by the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services with input from council members. Minutes are kept by an Administrative Assistant and given to each council member within a timely manner after the conclusion of the meeting. Council members are responsible to return to their school following the meeting and review the agenda with their principal initially with a subsequent report at the next staff meeting.

The dates below are the dates of the Curriculum Council meetings for 2016/17. Agendas and minutes will be available following each meeting under Informational Documents.
