Theater Arts

Creating art on the stage for the Orcutt Community.

About Us

Orcutt Academy High School Theatre Arts is based out of beautiful Orcutt, California and is made up of high school students who want to explore the theatre arts in a project-based environment.

Through two major productions and a showcase each year, students apply, develop, and hone the skills of the stage while also learning and applying skills necessary for effective group membership.

The classes provide a stimulating yet safe environment to conquer fears, take risks, and step outside one’s comfort zone to create art and entertainment.

There are two theatre courses at Orcutt Academy:

Drama is a yearlong course that introduces students to body movement, voice, stage acting, auditioning and production through the project-based method of learning.

Technical Theatre is a class where students learn the elements of crew and backstage work including management, design (e.g. lighting, scenic, costume, sound, and prop design), and production through the project-based method of learning.
