California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) 2026

Dear Orcutt Union School District Families,
As we move into the spring season, we want to share information regarding our upcoming annual state assessments. Students in grades 3–8, 11, and 12 will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).
These assessments help us understand how well our students are performing in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. Rather than just focusing on facts and memorization, these tests are designed to measure vital skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and writing—abilities that will help your child succeed in future grades and beyond.
Testing Window Details:This year, our district will administer the CAASPP tests between March 30th and May 15th. Your child’s specific school site will provide a more detailed schedule regarding which days your student will be testing.
More Information:Attached to this message, you will find additional letters providing a deeper look at the testing program and how you can best support your child during this time.
We view these assessments as one of many "snapshots" that help us celebrate student growth and identify how we can continue to support our learners. Thank you for your continued partnership and for ensuring your child arrives at school well-rested and ready to do their best.
Thank you.
