“I am grateful for this amazing opportunity to partner with our Board of Trustees in continuing the commitment to excellence for our students. This district holds a special place in my heart because of the people who work and live here. We have such dedicated employees and such a supportive community. It is clear that the culture in this district continues to put students first and to do whatever it takes to ensure our students have what they need to succeed not only in the time they are here with us, but in their future endeavors. I am proud of what we have accomplished and excited about what is yet to come.” Edds received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Irvine, her Master’s Degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and her doctorate from the University of California, Santa Barbara as part of a joint doctoral program with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She lives in Orcutt with her husband and two daughters.

Student Well-being. We believe that in order for students to learn, they
must feel safe physically, socially, and emotionally.

The Power of Community. We believe that when families, District staff,
and the community actively work together to realize a shared vision for
education, our students can reach their highest potential.

Inclusiveness. We believe that engaging and appreciating diverse

and kindness is the foundation for positive and productive relationships
between students, teachers, parents, District staff, the Board of Trustees
and community members.

essential partners with the District in their child’s education and
development.
